Mentally Prepping You and Your Kids for Your Photoshoot | College Station Newborn & Family Photographer
Do you get a nervous feeling in the pit of your stomach when thinking about your family photoshoot? Do you worry if your kids will behave and cooperate? Are you afraid of meltdowns?
Well… I’m here to tell you: Breathe, mom and dad! We’re going to make this a sweet and successful shoot, no matter what!
Here’s what we need to do… HYPE. IT. UP. to your kids. Seriously, get them sooo excited for their photoshoot! There is so much that they’ll get to do. They’ll get to dress up cute (or handsome!). They’ll get to meet and play with a new friend (me!). They’ll get to explore at the park. They’ll get to snuggle with mommy and/or daddy. They’ll get to make some silly faces at the end. They get to bring their “lovie”. They will even get some treats! It should be so exciting for them. A positive outlook and excitement can make all the difference.
Now, how to prep you, mom and dad! BREATHE. Whatever you’re worrying about, whether it’s a behavior issue, special need, typical “toddler-ness”, the weather, etc., bring it up with your photographer. They will listen and care, and they’ve probably worked through it (or something similar) before. And even if not, they’ll make extra time and accommodations to make sure your shoot is successful. Just voicing your concerns can be so helpful!
Remember, kids will be kids! And we want to capture that! We want to capture their carefree nature, playfulness, silliness, and connection with you and their siblings. And we totally will! ♥
